I'm new! How do I start my onboarding?

When will I get my Kit?
You will receive your full teaching kit once you have accepted an ongoing opportunity at a school or childcare. You will not receive a kit if you have not completed your shadow shift or have accepted an ongoing opportunity.

How do I start working as a Busy Minds Ed. teacher?
Once you have completed the teacher training for your specific role, and have signed the documents within the staff portal, you are ready to shadow an experienced teacher! Lease get in touch with your manager to schedule a day that works for you.

When do I get paid?
You will get paid on a biweekly basis based on the hours. Check with your current manager to see when the next pay period is. Be sure to check your hours and expenses, and let your manager know if there is a discrepancy.

Why does my teaching kit not have all of the props outlined in the training and onboarding?
We provide props based on the opportunity that you are committed to. Some teachers have more items than others because they work at various types of customer accounts: ie: childcares, schools, community centres. If you feel you are missing something from your kit, please request a kit item here.

What if I need extra items?
If you feel your kit is lacking, reach out to your manager for approval to purchase additional items. Either from our Amazon shop or at your local retailer. We suggest Dollarama for a wide range of great teaching supplies!
